I have been experimenting with various abstract expressionist techniques and ideas. I create layers without knowing where the full piece is headed in hopes that the piece comes together.

This piece is an attempt to demonstrate this. I have a complete background with squares each demonstrating different ways I build the painting. Some add color, some depth, and some texture. Some use wet on dry techniques and others wet on wet.

I have been working through the absurdity of the work and finding comfort learning you can find meaning in the absurd.
